Blown away

I’m still reeling from the effect of that Pixar film Up, in my book, one of the most beautiful stories on 3D. Nice how sometimes it takes the silliest things to drive home the biggest points — that life is an adventure best shared.

But that’s not the point of this. I mention Up because of all those balloons. Very pretty sight up there. I wonder why I don’t see many balloon releases in Philippine weddings. The balloons are often stuck on arches or tables and, that is just so… tacky. Forgive me, but really. Why not try these instead?

If you’re cynical, stop here. Because this blog is all about hopeful beginnings. It’s about the minutest details of one sublime affair. In the words of my beloved Joni Mitchell, it’s about “the dizzy dancing way you feel, as every fairy tale comes real…”

I am, at this point  preparing for my own walk down that aisle — sand, in our case – and have acquired a new sense of respect for couples (actually, mostly brides. Kudos to us!)  who make it through this crazy time in one gorgeous piece.

This blog is for them, and for all those who will attempt to do the same. Let’s get to that lovely day and our happy-ever-after.
