Summer of Love from Joey B.
As promised, as penance for my looong blogging absence, we’re giving away some lovin’ this uber hot summer — and it’s thanks to no less than Mr. Vintage Joey Boquiren, who, believe it or not, was the one who bugged me about having another round of these unbelievably generous FREEBIES!
So what’s the deal?
1) If you want a FREE ENGAGEMENT or TRASH-THE-DRESS SESSION, send us a theme board of your concept/inspiration and tell us how you plan to execute it, i.e. venue, props, even dresses, etc. The contest is open to couples whose weddings fall between April 1 and Dec. 31, 2010. We will pick the most interesting boards (one for TTD and one for engagement), so get creative. It doesn’t have to be a whole elaborate and expensive production (in fact, I’d personally prefer one that’s practical, too). Here’s some inspiration from a pre-nup shoot in a Zapote perya.
2) If you prefer FREE BACK-UP WEDDING COVERAGE, like what Mark and Gina won last year, send us your best DIY wedding project, complete with photos and instructions. Make it short and sweet, please. Only weddings slated on April 30 to July 15, 2010 may be covered (because Joey B. will be in the U.S. this July with Rene Gaviola).
Okay, the floor is now open for nominations (first-time features will be given priority). E-mail your entries to seemeinparis@yahoo.com with the couple’s complete names and wedding website (or if you don’t have one, please put your venue, wedding date and contact information). If your theme board or DIY project is already on your website, you may simply send us the link and other details you want to share.
We close at midnight on April 15. Go, go, go!!!
Joey B. + Rene G. = Everything nice
So you’re getting married; now how would you like your shots?
With sugar?
Or spice?
Or everything nice?
Well, this is one instance you won’t have to choose. Because you can have both.
Rene Gaviola, author of alternative editorials, and Joey Boquiren, the perfecter of vintage, have recently launched a special tie-up for wedding coverage in the Philippines. It’s the quintessential shooting two birds with one stone. Or maybe it’s having two stones shooting love birds? Whatever, here’s the deal:
Philippine-based Wedding Services by Joey Boquiren & Rene Gaviola
- wedding photography by Joey & Rene
- unlimited shots, printable .jpgs in PC-DVD format
- 10×10 40-page album (choice of leather album or coffeetable book)
- FEE: P60,000.00
You wanna toast to that?
Winners of free back-up photography
A couple who met at the queue to the restroom during an Oktoberfest gimmick. Another whose courtship lasted only one week and are now happy parents. Then there are those two who met in a chatroom but decided to see each other in person only after four years.
These three VERY lucky couples will receive free back-up photography service from the very talented and very generous Joey Boquiren.
CONGRATULATIONS to:
Kiko and Tine – Nov. 18 at the Transfiguration Chapel in Caleruega + Summit Ridge Hotel
King and Maan – Dec. 30 at the Notre Dame de Vie in Paranaque + Fernbrook Gardens
Mark and Gina – Dec. 06 at the Santisimo Rosario Parish in UST + Ramon Magsaysay Center
Please e-mail your new back-up photographer ( naaaks!) at botchok_817@yahoo.com to make arrangements for his coverage of your wedding. You guys are SO going to have lovely photos!
I’d like to thank everyone who joined the contest. It was fun reading all your unique ideas and stories. As Joey said, he thought some of the other weddings described would undoubtedly be gorgeous, but the wedding dates conflicted with his schedule, so…
Now GREAT NEWS for couples getting married in 2010! This early, Joey pledged to open the same contest next year as a “labor of love.” Having been blessed in his work, he would like to bless couples, too, especially those whose budgets would not allow them to hire a good back-up photographer.
How incredible is that! So stay tuned people!
Happy Haunts
